NOTE: The time delay between the measurement of Pl and P2 shall be kept to a minimum to prevent inaccurate readings.
NOTE: The reference cable to light source connection shall not be disturbed between measurement of Pl and P2 to prevent inaccurate readings.
Step 3 - Connect the MQJ to the reference cable using a single-mode ST to ST adapter and to the power meter using the applicable power meter adapter head (see figure 6Fl- 2).

Step 5 - Calculate the ST connector loss using the following formula:
BST = ( P1 - P2 )
Where: BST = ST connector loss in dB
Pl = Reference cable power in dBm
P2 = Test power in dBm
Step 6 - Record the ST connector loss along with the MQJ identification.
