Step 6 - Cut the cable jacket repair sleeve to the proper length (see table lBl-II).
Step 7 - CAUTION: Do not overheat the cable. The jacket should be just warm to the touch. Prolonged exposure of the jacket to temperatures above l60oC (320oF) may damage the cable jacket.
Hold the heat gun approximately l00 mm (4 in) away from the cable and apply heat to all parts of the cable jacket to which the repair sleeve is to be applied.
Step 8 - Assemble the repair sleeve as shown (see figure lBl-4). Leave approximately l3 mm (0.5 in) overhang of channel on both sides of sleeve (see figure lBl-5).
